I've been in business for a long time. Over the years business has changed a lot. It's not like everyone has always been honest, but at least back when I started people tried to do good by each other. It seemed like a good way to do business, and I still try to do that with my customers. I wish I could say the same for everyone else. There are a lot of businesses that really try to take advantage of their customers on a regular basis.
One exception I can think of is Rob Selfors. I've done business with him for a while and I don't have a single bad thing to say. He's always been great to work with because he always makes an effort to be cooperative, and he's always professional. Too many times these days you see people rushing through a job or cutting corners. Rob has always done a quality job, which makes my job easier. In this business, if everyone doesn't do their job right, it makes it harder for the rest of us. The client is less trusting, and someone else ends up cleaning up the mess. On every job I've worked with Rob on, he's gone out of his way to make sure his job was done right.
I know that old fashioned is out of style these days, but I think there's something to say for doing a job right. If more businesses tried to do business the old fashioned way, we might have more satisfied customers. If anybody were to ask me who I would choose to work with on a job I'd say Rob Selfors without a doubt. Not only was he pleasant to work with, but he he also went out of the way to make his customers happy, which makes it easier for us all.
